New Look | Red Lips

While I was in Canada, I bought a new YSL lipstick at Sephora.  I ended up having loads of Sephora points so I received an Hourglass Cosmetics box sample set.  Included was a mini Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in the color Icon.  Which is super, super red.

If you've hung around my blog enough you know that I'm pretty scared of red lipstick.  Not only is it extremely messy, but I just never liked the way it looked on me.  The closest I would wear to red lips was purchasing the infamous Kate Moss lipstick in 107.  That's pretty much as red as I would go.  Until Icon.

I bit the bullet and decided to try it out on my last night in Canada, and I just absolutely loved the way it looked on me!  I didn't wear much eye makeup, just mascara, and rightly so, as it made my red lips -POP- even more.  You know how you're scared of doing something new with your makeup but then you do and you think How did I ever live without this before?  Pretty dramatic but that's exactly how I feel with this match made in Heaven.

I added a slight bohemian twist on these photos because when I went out in Canada, I was dressed casual upscale, so I wanted to see what it looked like in another style (other photo taken with it below-not enhanced at all!)

Also, I know these photos are kinda intense (i.e. clearly enhanced and pretty bright), but I actually really like the way they came out.  And I wanted to show the clear contrast between the red lips, my complexion and my black shirt!

Last night on my trip.
